We truly believe in the small details of your trip, with the focus on the support and attention. From the moment you arrive, you will be looked after by us with meticulous care throughout the entire journey – From the daily cleaned and serviced bike, the fully equipped support vehicle, freshly laundered kit service… to the chilled recovery shake handed to you at the end of your ride!

Our team consists of an experienced mechanic and knowledgeable professional guides. The support vehicle is always there for any eventuality, or a welcome haven if you need that rest. We also have local bi-lingual support for any incidents that require assistance, be that medical or administrative. Our ratio of staff to rider in the mountains is generally 4 Girona Velo team members to 9 riders, with the assistance of 2 support vehicles.

THE ITALIAN MOUNTAINS

Have you ever dreamed of climbing The Stelvio, The Gavia Pass and The Mortirola. On this Northern Italy experience, you will get to ride all 3 iconic Italian Alpine giants that have graced the Giro d’Italia for more than half a century.
You’ll be picked up in Milan and chauffeured to the beautiful town of Bormio, where we will be based for the first half of this Italian mountain experience. From here, we will be perfectly located to tackle these legendary climbs of the Giro de Italia. We believe every cyclist should experience these mythical climbs, with hairpins that snake their way up to some of the highest peaks in Europe. The Stelvio alone has a breath-taking 48 hairpins and is perhaps the most iconic climb on every cyclist’s bucket list.
Obviously being in Italy, the riding is only half the story – the rest of the journey is to be enjoyed in the bars & restaurants, where a healthy sampling of the delicious food and wines of Lombardy is a must.
The remainder of our journey takes us from the Italian Alps to the equally stunning Dolomites for the second half of this epic week, where we will be staying in a wonderful relaxing Spa hotel located in Covara, an enchanting town nestled among the peaks of the Dolomites mountains. In Corvara we will be ascending the breathtaking (in sight and effort) Passo Gardena, Passo Sella, Passo Pordoi and Passo Campolonga and in-between some local hidden gems. And of course – we will be once again sampling the local delicacies of this region of Alto Adige, in the town’s best restaurants and enjoying arguably the best coffee in the world in the bars along the way.

The Girona Velo Italian mountains Experiences is one for the rider who obviously loves to climb, and with 2 support vehicles and 2 guides on the road, you will be able to ascend at a pace that best suits you. Climbing these iconic Giro d’Italia summits is why cyclists flock to Northern Italy, but we would also like you to savour the seemingly small spontaneous moments that always make the difference on these Girona Velo Experiences.

And for those that have never visited this breath-taking corner of Italy –  you will no doubt fall in love with the warm hospitality, in a region that is a million miles away from the Italy of gondolas, gelaterias and colosseums further south.
We’d love to have you join us for this magnificent but challenging week of cycling hedonism, plus all the sumptuous delights that the area has to offer.
Allow us take care of everything – so you can just focus on riding, eating sumptuous Italian mountain food and sharing this unique experience with your fellow riders.
The recipe is very simple – riding through idyllic mountainous landscapes with like minded friends, quality ride support & attention, and a generous sampling of the best local food and wine in the world…… what more does anyone need?
