FAQs

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE EXPERIENCE PRICE?

Pretty much everything. We provide luxury 4 star accommodation as standard, or on the rare occasion that a 4 star hotel is not available – we would find an equivalent quality alternative. Hotel accommodation is based on 2 people sharing a room. There is an additional charge of $550 for those who would like single room occupancy.

Food & drink is also a big part of our experiences and therefore included in the trip price. We carefully pick the best local restaurants for evening meals with guests and crew. We also include wine with the evening meals within reasonable consumption. Breakfasts and lunches are also included. Lunches can vary depending on the Experience, sometimes we stop for lunch at restaurants, or if the occasion demands it, we provide alfresco picnic style lunches using local fresh produce. All road snacks, energy drinks and recovery drinks are also part of the package.

DO YOU PROVIDE RENTAL BIKES?

If you choose to bring your own bike, we just ask that it is in top working order and ready to ride. Our qualified mechanics are always busy with on-road tweaks and fixes, and do not have the time to undertake major repairs prior to the start of the trip. We can provide a rental bike for an additional fee of $450 for the 7 days.  Our pro mechanic can also replace the saddle and pedals with your preferred choice and fit the bike to your specifications.

WHAT SHOULD I BRING?

We recommend that you bring 3-4 kits, shoes and helmet. The type of kit depends on the Experience you have chosen. Once you have signed up, we will provide you with a detailed itinerary and packing list.

HOW MANY SUPPORT STAFF ARE ON THESE EXPERIENCES?

As a general rule for an experience with 10 riders, there would be 2 guides and 1 mechanic. Plus a support vehicle waiting at strategic points on the route.

WHAT RIDER LEVEL ARE THE GIRONA VELO EXPERIENCES FOR?

Most of our trips are for keen cyclists. Meaning that on your normal ride, your average pace would be 24 KPH (15MPH). On the point to point trips, we always have a support vehicle at the back of the group and one up front. This allows us to fully support all rider levels on the road.

WHAT IS THE GIRONA VELO CANCELLATION POLICY?

We completely understand that due to certain unavoidable life circumstances, you may have to cancel your trip with us. If so – please contact us as soon as you can in writing to info@gironavelo.com. Firstly, we would do everything within our power to assist you or accommodate you by transferring your funds to a future Girona Velo Experience. If we were unable to do that – the following cancellation policy would apply:

Your deposit is fully refundable up to 90 days prior to the Experience start date. From 61-90 days of the trip start date – 75% of your Experience fee is eligible for refund or transfer to another Girona Velo Experience. 31-60 days prior to the trip start date, you are entitled to a 50% refund of the trip price. For 30 days or less before the start date – no refund will be available.

GIRONA VELO RIGHTS

We reserve the right to cancel or change your trip at any time prior to your departure date, due to any events outside of our control, such as but not limited to natural disasters, ‘acts of God’ pandemics, terrorist attacks etc. We also reserve the right to change or cancel your trip at any time prior to the departure date, although we assure you this would only occur if extremely necessary.

TRAVEL INSURANCE

It is mandatory requirement that all guests take out a fully comprehensive insurance policy that covers both medical emergencies and damage/loss of personal property.
